Step 3: Advance Implementation of Juror Notification System

Jurors are critical to the success of a fair and impartial judicial system; and, we need to make serving, as convenient as possible.  As an employee with the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC), I worked on almost every aspect of this system. This knowledge allows me to work closely with the AOC, to advance our notification system used by the Jury Management System (JMS).  I will diligently work to ensure that any and all notification systems have been vetted, and implemented, as quickly as possible.

Our current JMS system is not broken; but, it is under-utilized, and not geared towards catering effectively to our jurors.  The crux of the JMS is to get jurors into the courthouse when needed, get them vetted for trial, and give them proper notification on when to return for a follow up.

I plan to enhance the notification of when a juror should return, as my first goal of this step.  Our society is extremely connected with different communication mediums, like Twitter, Facebook, email and SMS.  I will search out additional opportunities, to ensure that jurors have multiple options for more PUSH notifications, to enhance their juror experience.  Lord knows we cannot pay jurors anymore money; but, we surely can find simpler notification methods to lessen the sting of the process.

What are some of your ideas on how to enhance juror notifications?
